1. RAJA HARISHCHANDRA : FIRST FULL-LENGTH INDIAN FEATURE FILM

Made in 1913 Raja Harishchandra was the first full-length Indian feature film. Directed and produced by Dadasaheb Phalke, the film was based on the legend of King Harishchandra. The film was released on 3 May, 1913. Only one print of the film was made and shown at the Coronation Cinema Hall.

2. ALAM ARA : FIRST SOUND FILM MADE IN INDIA

3. KISAN KANYA : INDIA'S FIRST INDIGENOUSLY MADE COLOUR FILM

Released in 1937, Kisan Kanya is India's first indigenously made colour film. Directed by Moti B. Gidvani and produced by Ardeshir Irani (who directed India's first talkie film Alam Ara), the film unfolded the poor plight of a farmer and the consequences he faces for being a peasant.
