World's Most Flexible Man - Daniel Browning Smith

Daniel Browning Smith is the most flexible man alive and the most famous contortionist. A five time Guiness Record holder, this man is also known as “The Rubberboy”.

Daniel Browning Smith, had the strangest abilities. He discovered this at the young age of four when roughhousing with his siblings, he jumped off the bunk bed to land in a split. His father , amazed at his son’s unique gift, collected some photographs of contortionists from the local library to show Daniel.

Daniel started training extensively in order to expand his limits and bend his body in impossible ways. His performances include contortion handstands and unique acrobatics, he dislocates his arms to crawl through an unstrung tennis racket or a toilet seat.

He had appearances in many sports events or shows like The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, ESPN’s Sports Center, Oprah Winfrey, Ripley’s Believe It or Not, Cirque du Soleil, Best Damn Sports Show Period, The Discovery Channel, Men in Black 2, HBO’s Carnivale, CSI: NY and America got a talent.

The Ice Man - Wim Hof

He’s run a half-marathon in the Arctic Circle region –in bare feet. He’s been entombed in ice for 72 straight minutes. He’s swum 80 meters beneath a layer of ice. He’s climbed partway up Mount Everest, clad only in a pair of shorts.

This man is known, unsurprisingly, as The Iceman. And no, he’s not a new character on Heroes –he’s a 48-year-old Dutchman named Wim Hof, who has the ability to control his body’s temperature through an ancient form of meditation known as Tummo. Though Tummo is normally practiced only by monks, Hof has mastered the art form to such an extent that he never feels cold, even in sub-zero temperatures that could cause severe hypothermia, or even death, should us normal people attempt such stunts.

Hof’s incredible abilities confound common scientific beliefs, and the Iceman has been the subject of many studies to see whether there is anything unusual about his body that allows him to embrace freezing temperatures. But as far as they can tell, it’s really all in his mind: “It’s very easy to speculate that the same mind control that you use to control your heart when you’re scared also can be called upon to control the other organs in the body. And maybe that’s how Wim Hof does this,” Dr. Ken Kamler told ABC News. “That’s … it’s speculation, but it sort of makes sense, and a lot of scientists are working very hard to try to figure this out now.”

Chocolate Hills, Philippines

The Chocolate Hills are an unusual geological formation in Bohol Province, Philippines. They form a rolling terrain of haycock hills – mounds of a generally conical and almost symmetrical shape. The hills vary in sizes from 30 to 50 meters (98 to 160 ft) high with the largest being 120 meters (390 ft) in height. There are approximately 1,776 hills spread over an area of more than 50 km2 (20 sq mi) including throughout the towns of Carmen, Batuan, and Sagbayan. They are covered in grasses, composites and ferns that turn chocolate-brown color during the dry season, hence the name.

The Philippine hills consist of Late Pliocene to Early Pleistocene, thin to medium bedded, sandy to rubbly marine limestones. These limestones contain abundant fossils of shallow marine foraminifera, coral, mollusks, and algae. The conical karst hills, called mogote, were created by a combination of the dissolution of limestones by rainfall, surface water, and groundwater and their subaerial erosion by rivers and streams after they had been uplifted above sea level and fractured by tectonic processes. The hills are separated by well developed flat plains (which are cultivated with rice and other cash crops) and contain numerous caves and springs.
